POOL CONSULTING - DESIGN SPECIFICATION - CITY OF BRAMPTON - GORE MEADOWS LIBRARY AND COMMUNITY CENTRE PHASE 2 - ZAS ARCHITECTS - June 2013 - April 2019 

RecTec Management Group Inc. is currently working with ZAS - Architects on Phase 2 of the Gore Meadows Library and Community Centre, which includes an 8 lane 25m pool, leisure pool, and water slide. The project tasks include brining the design details of the Pool Mechanical and Equipment to a design tender format through written specifications and/or schematic drawings, and assisting with the creation of construction tender documents. RecTec will continue on to oversee the construction to ensure all criteria are met. 

POOL CONSULTING - DESIGN SPECIFICATION - Pan American Aquatic Centre and Field House - B+H Architects - March 2011 - 2015 

RecTec Management Group Inc. worked with B+H Architects on the Pan Am Aquatic Centre and Field House for the 2015 Pan American Games. The project tasks included bringing the design details of the Pool Mechanical and Equipment to a design tender through written specifications and/or schematic drawings, categorizing the pool equipment into Pan Am Games Requirements and Wants or Legacy Requirements and Wants. Our work continues on the generation of construction written specifications and drawings, overseeing the construction and commissioning process. 

SPORT TIMING/DISPLAY CONSULTING - DESIGN SPECIFICATION - Pan American Games - B+H Architects - July 2011 - 2015  

RecTec Management Group Inc. is currently working with B+H Architects in the design of the Sport Display, Scoring, Timing and Results for the five new facilities being built for the Pan American Games: Pan AM Aquatic Centre and Field House, Markham Pan AM Aquatic Centre and Field House, York University Pan AM Track and Field Stadium, Hamiltons Ivor Wynne Stadium, and Miltons Pan AM Veledrome. Consulting services on these p;rejects include bringing the design details of display, timing scoring, and result requirements for the Pan AM Games to a construction tender through written specification and or schematic drawings. TIMING/DISPLAY SYSTEM INSTALLATION - CIBC - PanAm/Parapan Am Aquatics Centre and Fieldhouse - Spring 2014

POOL CONSULTING - EXPANSION AND OPERATIONS - Etobicoke Swimming - October 2008-2010 

RecTec Management Group Inc. worked with Etobicoke Swimming on a potential 38 million dollar expansion to the Etobicoke Olympium. This venture also investigated the private operation of the expansion on behalf of the Club. We generated conceptual drawings on the expansion and budgetary coasting of the concept. We put together Operational Structures and Project Operating Budgets. We assisted in the writing of the Business Pan that was presented to the City of Toronto for a Design/Build/Manage stage.

Timing upgrades for the London Aquatic Club system included; new quantum controller and system, as well as new touchpads.

Installation of new OSB11 Starting Blocks at Brock University in the competition pool.

RecTec Management Group Inc. started preliminary discussions on the type of equipment and the installation procedures for the 4 Aquatic Sport groups at FINA International Standards. Project turned over to Omega North America Rep.

RecTec Management Group Inc. started primary discussions on the type of equipment and the installation procedures for all the Track and Field Sports at International Standards. Project turned over to the Omega North America Rep.

Based on information collected, RecTec Management Group Inc. provided a list of equipment required at the new 50 metre training/competition pool. They also provided budgetary numbers for the equipment and generated written specifications, drawings, and schematics for the tender/construction process.

Based on information collected, RecTec Management Group Inc. provided a list of equipment required at the 50 metre pool. We also generated drawings for the tender/construction process.

RecTec is now oversaw the construction to ensure all performance criteria were being met. 

POOL CONSULTING - TENDER - Nelson Outdoor Pool - November 2015 

RecTec Management Group Inc. provided a tender for a new Pool Shell and Mechanical Replacement for the Nelson Outdoor Pool in the City of Burlington. RecTec Management Group Inc was asked by the City of Burlington to provide a proposal for three options for the future of the Nelson Pool site. RecTec provided design and budget numbers for three options for the updating of the Nelson Outdoor Pool.

RecTec Management Group Inc. worked with the Monterey Facility Project on the potential construction of a 52 metre swimming pool in the State of California. We provided conceptual drawings of the layout, potential amenities, projected construction costs, and operations structure and budget. 

POOL CONSULTING - DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS - TFC Soccer Academy - BBB Architects - July 2011 - August 2012 

RecTec Management Group In.c worked with BBB and The Mitchell Partnership Inc. in the design and construction of a lap pool and installation of dipping pools into the TFC - Soccer Academy. Consulting services on this project included bringing the design detail as of Pool Mechanical and Equipmentto a construction tender through written specifications and/or schematic drawings. Our work continued by overseeing the construction and commissioning process for the aquatic facilities. 

POOL CONSULTING - NEEDS ASSESSMENT/CONCEPT/COSTING - Kingston Association of Aquatic Recreation and Sport (KAARS) - August 2007 - March 2008 

RecTec Management Group Inc. worked with the KAARS group to provide technical consulting services in many areas of aquatic facilities including determine the types of amenities, costing, facility tour advisor - Montreal, concept drawings, phased in approach to City Tender and as required technical support. 

POOL CONSULTING - BULKHEAD REPLACEMENT/TIMING SYSTEM UPGRADES - University of Dalhousie, Dalplex Sports Centre - October 2005 - March 2007

Tim Hamel provided consulting services on the removal of the existing two bulkheads and the installation of two new ones. The scope included budgetary numbers, written specifications, bulkhead drawings, tender process, evaluation of tenders, and review of the installation. The scope also included the written specifications and installation of new timing equipment. 

POOL CONSULTING - VARIOUS RENOVATIONS AND UPGRADES - City of Brampton - 2005 - 2006

Tim Hamel worked under contract to the City of Brampton in completing yearly State of Good Repair Audits including a 10-year capital plan of repair for all 14 aquatic facilities. Also included in this contract was quarterly inspection and reporting of any repairs required at the facilities. Tim also spent time with each of the facility operators to review upgrades and generate specifications and recommendations on any proposed work required.

SPA AND DIPPING POOL CONSULTING - CONSTRUCTION - Body Blitz Spa, Toronto, 2005 

Tim Hamel generated the written specifications, tender, and permit drawings on the construction on one spa and two dipping pools. The scope of the specifications included excavation, Gunite shell, spa fittings, piping, mechanical equipment, HVAC, and shell finish. He also evaluated contractor tender submission. 

POOL CONSULTING - MECHANICAL UPGRADES - City of Toronto, Wedgewood Outdoor Pool - October 2005 

Tim Hamel generated the written specifications required for the tender process for the removal of the existing eight skimmers and replacement of new ones. The scope included the removal of the existing piping, setting in new skimmers, poured concrete, pressure test, etc. 

POOL CONSULTING - MECHANICAL UPGRADES - City of Toronto, Smythe Park Pool - April 2004 - October 2004 

Tim Hamel supplied and oversaw the mechanical equipment upgrades to a 50 metre Olympic sized and a 15 metre toddler outdoor pool for the City of Toronto. The work included supplying all of the pumps, filters, water controller, main drains, skimmers, returns, etc. He also provided consulting services in the proper installation and commissioning of the equipment over to the City. 

POOL CONSULTING - STATE OF GOOD REPAIR AUDITS - Toronto District School Board Pools - WGA Architects - November 2002 - March 2003 

Tim Hamel competed a STATE OF GOOD REPAIR AUDIT WITH WGA Architects on 85 Toronto District School Board swimming pools. During this project Tim was responsible for inspecting the pools filtration system, piping, valves, water chemistry equipment, shell, fittings, deck, on deck equipment, safety equipment and signage. Tim also supplied a year estimation of when this equipment need to be replaced and the projected cost. 

POOL AND SPA CONSULTING - CONSTRUCTION - Verity Womens Fitness Club, Toronto - 2003 - 2004 

Tim Hamel provided budgetary numbers on the cost of construction. He also generated the written specifications, tender and permit drawings on the construction of one pool and spa. The scope of the specifications included excavation, Gunite shell, spa fittings, piping, mechanical equipment, HVAC, and shell finish. He also evaluated contractor tender submission. Superior Pools Ltd. went on to construct the pool and spa as a design built contract. 

POOL CONSULTING - UPGRADES - City of Etobicoke, Etobicoke Olympium - WGA Architects - October 2003 

Tim Hamel provided pool consulting service to Wong Gregerson Architects on the specification writing and evaluation of the renovations on the 50 metre Olympic Pool. The scope of work included ensuring that the pools, through their renovation, maintained their FINA Internationally Competitive Swimming Standard. Tim evaluated all of the FINA shop drawings and contractors submissions including specifications written for new overflow gutters, new main drain gates, timing system upgrades, and bubblers system upgrades. 

SPA AND HOT TUB CONSULTING - CONSTRUCTION - Town of Newmarket, Thornhill Fitness Centre - WGA Architects - 2003 - 2004 

Tim Hamel provided pool consulting service to Wong Gregersen Arhcitects on the design and spec writing for a main spa and two change room hot tubs for the Town of Newmarket. The scope of work included budget numbers, initial mechanical requirements, pool/spa tender spec, equipment catalogue cuts and review of bids from contractors.
